Nova Award

For the first time we are offering two NOVA awards at the spring Super Saturday. This is an all-day clinic where the scouts will earn 2 of the NOVA Awards, Start Your Engines and Whoosh in addition to 3 merit badges Aviation, Energy, and Inventing.

Participants Requirements: A scout must be First Class or 14 years old or in or finished 8^th grade and have taken a general science class.

Details:

• • The clinic will be all day.
  • Class size will be limited to 10 scouts.
  • In order for the awards to be completed in this clinic there are extensive prerequisites. Prerequisites will be the first item checked in class. If the scout does not have the prerequisites, they will not get the awards or merit badges. There will be no makeup after class.
  • Use the worksheets (links below) to record your prerequisites.
  • It is a participation class, meaning it is expected that all the scouts come prepared and be ready to discuss the topics. If the scout is not participating in the class, they may be asked not to attend the second half of the day after lunch.
  • There are no substitutions if the scout already has any of the merit badges. Please bring proof. (the badge, presentation card, or note from a troop leader)

As there are some hands on activities the scouts are asked to bring a couple items.
